Oakville Soccer Club Director Interview from Pine Glen

Oakville soccer club technical director Jason de Vos was a Canadian men’s national team captain who is now taking on a lead role at the Oakville Soccer Club in the Pine Glen indoor soccer facility in Oakville.

Jason discusses how he got into soccer and his experiences as a young soccer player. He went on to captain the men’s national team of Canada. Jason believes if you take the time to learn the fundamental skills, then you will get the most enjoyment from the game. The new coaching program for 2012 should provide more growth opportunities for kids. Not only is soccer an active sport so it encourages kids to increase their health and fitness levels, but it is also a team sport where players must develop a relationship with other players and the game. This is a life skill to be able to work as part of a team and to learn to be a good teammate.

Jason is competitive, driven and committed to getting a job done by hard work and perseverence. He hopes to instill these positive values on others at the club. “If you work hard at soccer, hockey, school or other vocation, then you will be successful at it”.
