This week is beautiful in Oakville with warm air coming up to Canada from the Gulf of Mexico, but snow and the holidays are around the corner.
The town’s snow removal service is based on a priority system with primary access roads being plowed first, then secondary roads and then other residential streets. Sidewalks are also cleared with a smaller machine. Bus stops are also included in the ice and snow removal service provided by the town.
The sidewalk clearing only occurs after a heavier snowfall in excess of 5cm. Even sidewalk clearing has an order with sidewalks near public services and schools plowed first and then the other residential sidewalks. Note that the areas around super mailboxes are the responsibility of Canada Post.
