Video game developer Rockstar Vancouver is dissolved as those positions go up for grabs at Rockstar Toronto (formerly Rockstar Canada) with a planned addition of another 50 team members soon. The idea is to consolidate the team into one location as a new partnership is formed with the Ontario government.
The new facility in Oakville will be custom built thanks to funds from the Ontario government and attract 50 new jobs.
This means Rockstar will also open a larger studio here in Oakville, Ontario for Rockstar Toronto.
Rockstar Games has developed the Max Payne series of video games as well as Grand Theft Auto and The Warriors. The developer creates video games for Microsoft, Sony and Ninendo platforms and also collaborates with other Rockstar studios around the world such as Rockstar New England, Rockstar Vienna and Rockstar London.
Rockstar jobs in Oakville will include Senior Software Developer, Java software developer and software engineers among other positions in development and sales.
