Oakville Soccer Club Reorganizes Coaching Structure for 2011-2012

Posted by on November 22, 2011

The Oakville Soccer Club has made sweeping changes to the entire coaching structure and has added new staff.   Director Jason de Vos is taking an active role in facilitating change to one of North America’s biggest soccer clubs.  Professional coaching staff used to focus only on the A teams and leave the rest to volunteers, but under the new plan, the professional coaches will monitor their assigned entire age group training.  This will help B and C team coaches and integrate the overall training to all at the rep level and also extends to house league.

Oakville Soccer extends to North AmericaThe OSC new hires include former professional soccer players and national team members.  The new program will affect U-11 to U-18 boys and girls.
Some of the coaches include Jimmy Sinclair (2001-born boys), Sinisa Ninkovic (2000 boys), Paul Marques (1999 boys), Chris Grierson (1998 boys), Darryl Hellam (1997 boys), Dagoberto Torres (1996 boys), Mark Worton (1995 boys), Nelson Bustos (1994 boys), Dani Bernier (2001 girls), Greg Vagasky (2000 girls), Cyprian McFarlane (1999 girls), Ian Sinclair (1998 girls), John Evans (1997 girls), Pel Borea (1996 girls), Ian McLoughlin (1995 girls) and Dino Lopez (1994 girls).

John Moreira of EuroStar goalkeeper training will once again be the OSC’s goalkeeper coach and Rafael Carbajal will oversee all coaches as the club’s coach development manager.   John Moreira develops a no-nonsense goalkeeper training to encourage young goalkeepers to develop to their full potential.  The training he provides is second to none in all of North America and the club is very fortunate to have him.

Time will tell if the new system will have a positive impact on player training, but with such dedication and focus,  players have an abundance of quality training which will help each individual player become a better soccer player.

Good luck to all of Oakville’s Rep Soccer Teams for the 2012 game season.
