The 2nd annual Ribfest is on again from June 21 – June 23, 2013. There is free admission and entertainment from Friday 4pm – 11pm, Saturday 10am – 11pm and Sunday 12 noon -8pm.
To get there from the QEW, go north on Trafalgar Rd. and Sheridan is 3 blocks up. There is also parking at the Oakville Town Hall at 1225 Trafalgar road as well as in Church parking lots. There is a free shuttle bus from Town Hall to the Ribfest.
Be sure to bring enough cash, because the rib vendors don’t like credit cards. In case you run out, there will be ATMs on location.
Proceeds go to the Rotary Club of Oakville. This year over 30,000 visitors will be expected. Come on down and have some ribs and visit with friends old and new. There are 9 ribbers this year to select from. The cost is about $22 for a full rack with smaller portions available. There will also be 3 beer tents and activities for kids and teens.
The location is on the actual Oakville Sheridan College campus on Trafalgar Road.
Music performances will include several acts: Friday night there will be rock and pop bands including Stereo Kid. Saturday, there is kids entertainment and pop music and Saturday evening there will be classic rock performances by The Kings, Jeffrey Brothers and Bare Blue Sea. Sunday there is jazz and blues music, with Flash Teeter and the Men from Mars as the closing act.
