Oakville Olympians at Sochi Olympics 2014

Oakville is proud to be home to Olympians Erika Brown, Brianne Jenner, Kirsten Wall and John Tavares who call Oakville their home and are representing Canada at the 2014 Sochi Olympic Games.

brianne jennerBrianne Jenner is 22 years old and a member of the Canadian women’s hockey team who just beat Switzerland 5-0 and are on their way to another winning performance on the international Olympic stage.  She made her debut for the team at the 2010 Four Nations Cup and won a gold medal. Brianne graduated from Appleby College and went to Cornell University.  The gold medal game for women’s hockey will be on Feb. 20, 2014.

curling kirsten wallKirsten Wall was born in Milton and went to White Oaks high school and works in Mississauga at the Credit Valley Hospital.  Her specialty is curling. She is currently the alternate player on the Jennifer Jones rink and is 38 years old.

More Olympians living in Oakville include:

Erika Brown has lived in Oakville for over 10 years and comes from Madison, Wisconsin in the U.S. originally.  She is 41 years old and will be competing in the curling event.

John Tavares went to St. Thomas Aquinas high school and is on the men’s hockey team.  The gold medal game will be on Sunday, Feb. 23 and the Russians will want to be part of that final as well.

John is captain of the New York Islanders.  Some of Canada’s game schedule here:
