Midnight Madness is back again in Oakville on Friday, July 19, 2013 from 6 p.m. to 12 midnight! There will be live music, great food and entertainment as well as shops and restaurants that stay open late. Once again, downtown Oakville, Ontario is transformed into a pedestrian zone with different bands and musicians entertaining along the way.
This year celebrates 36 years of Midnight Madness and is expected to draw a crowd of over 50,000 visitors. The Oakville Kin Club will be offering BBQ hot snacks, pop, and popcorn and will contribute funds raised that evening to support local charities.
Last year featured a wide range of music and bands from classic rock, blues to pop and beyond in and around Oakville Towne Square. The bands usually start around 7 p.m. on stages at Lakeshore Road West and Navy Street, Towne Square, Dunn Street North, Dunn Street South, Reynolds Street North, Reynolds Street South, and Lakeshore Road East and Allan Street.
Community groups also participate at Midnight Madness including the Oakville Fire Department. Last year, the free shuttle bus was handy that came around every 15 minutes and transported visitors from the Oakville GO station to the downtown area between 5:30 p.m.-12:15 a.m.. In the spirit of the event, the downtown area will also offer free parking after 6 p.m.
