The half marathon event is being held on Sunday Sept. 23, 2012 in Oakville, Ontario and there will be a tv broadcast on CBC Sports. Sports Day in Canada is being celebrated around the country on Saturday, Sept. 29, 2012.
Runners are to pickup their race kits which include the race bib and time chip at the Runners Expo Saturday Sept. 22, 2012 from 10am to 6pm at Coronation Park (1426 Lakeshore Road West, Oakville) as there will not be any race kit pickups on race day Sunday.
The Half-Marathon event will begin bright and early at 7:45 am on Sunday in Coronation Park and the finish line will also be in the park. The actual course includes going along Lakeshore Rd to Morrison Rd, then to Morrison Heights Road, to Carey and then around and back to Linbrook Road, Chartwell, Rebecca, Jones and over to Bronte Road before heading back to Lakeshore Road. The finish line is when you enter Coronation park again after completing the circuit and then go south to finish the event.
Prizes are awarded in all age categories with awards beginning at 9:30am on race day.
There will be water offered every 3k of the race preceded by Gatorade.
