Happy Leap Day Oakville

Posted by on February 29, 2012

Feb. 29 happens every 4 years, and this year Feb. 29, 2012 means the year has 366 days.  So there is one more day to get things done around Oakville!

The reason we have a leap day is because a solar year is actually about 365 1/4 days long, so we have to adjust every 4 years to be in line with our solar system.

Snow was predicted for this lead day around the G.T.A, but we only got a light sprinkling earlier this morning with a light freezing rain forecast.  There were even some school bus cancellations around the GTA this morning in anticipation of the storm announced yesterday, only it did not materialize around the lakefront, however further north and to the east, there was a greater amount of snowfall.

Enjoy your leap day in Oakville!
