The RBC Canadian Open 2013 returns to the Glen Abbey Golf Course!   After being held at Shaughnessy Golf and Country Club in Vancouver, the Open is being held in Hamilton for July 2012 and then comes back to Glen Abbey in July, 2013.

It turns out Adam Hadwin of Abbotsford B.C. earned an exemption into this year’s open.  Richard Scott will join him along with Matt McQuillan of Kingston and Brad Fritsch of Manotick, ON who were the other players that earned an exemption this year for Hamilton. Mike Weir has also received an exemption to make it a total of 15 Canadians playing in the Open this year.

In 2013, it will be the 26th time that the event is hosted at the Glen Abbey Golf Club.  We will hope for better weather than the last Open held here and surely will get it as the weather odds are with us this time. Just look at this year in July, the lawns are going brown and rainfall is few and far between.

Chris Rudge will serve as Tournament Chair for the 2013 RBC Canadian Open and the field will include a host of pros trying to get onto the list with Tiger Woods, Vijay Singh, Greg Norman, Lee Trevino, and Curtis Strange. It sure will be exciting to have the Open back in Oakville again next year.

If you are visiting the Open this year in Hamiton, parking will be available at the Ancaster Fairgrounds located at 630 Trinity Rd, Hamilton, ON L9G 3K9 from Monday July 23rd to Sunday July 29th, 2012.

Good luck to all of the participants this year and we are excited to have the Canadian Open back in Oakville in 2013!
