Posted by on June 1, 2013

It’s kids’ fitness time at the YMCA Oakville event tomorrow, June 2, 2013.  The official name of the event is Healthy Kids Day and several YMCAs across Canada are simultaneously hosting the event designed to get kids moving and helping families embrace healthy lifestyle habits.

The event will be at the Oakville YMCA on Sunday June 2, 2013 from 11 a.m. – 3 p.m. and is FREE for the whole family.

The increasing rate of diabetes and other chronic diseases among our youth is staggering.  Events like these draw attention to the importance of healthy living, eating and exercise.

Many Y’s are getting star power behind the event.  Meet TV and internet stars at the Oakville YMCA on June 2 including YTV’s Nathan McLeod, Katrina and Sloane of FitForaFeast.com and a host of dancers and performers.

FitForaFeast will be there to teach some dance steps and inspire kids to stay fit and get healthier.

Teen hosts Katrina and Sloane from the popular Fitfor a Feast YouTube channel will be here! Try their free classes including the dance lesson which will be featured on fitforafeast.com*  If you ever wanted to be on a FitForaFeast video, this is your chance!  The channel currently has over 50 million views and growing, and is popular with kids, tweens and teens around the world.

*The dance lesson will be recorded and posted online. A video/photo release is required to participate.
