Burlington Restaurant Fire Sunday Morning – Animals Safe

Apple Annie’s Kitchen in Burlington was ablaze early Sunday morning on Plains Road East near King Road. Right next door is an animal hospital where several pets were located. The quick reaction of the firefighters as well as the respons of animal control officers were able to save all of the animals not just from the fire threat, but from the more serious smoke threat.

A quarter million dollars worth of damage had been done to the building but the animals were all safe.

Heavy damage in Burlington restaurant fire

Damage is about $250,000 and pets at
an attached animal hospital safe after fire tore through the rear of a
Burlington restaurant fire early Sunday.

The blaze destroyed the office and storage area of Apple Annie’s Kitchen on Plains Road East near King Road just after midnight.

Firefighters and animal control officers moved the animals to safety as light smoke filled the hospital.
